Christmas time is here! And what is the best Christmas Dessert? For me, it has to be the Buche de Noel!

Also known as yule log because it looks resemble a wood log, this roll cake covered with chocolate cream which textured with a fork to give it a realistic look.It's totally delicious! For me, it also hold a fond memory when I was celebrating Christmas with my friends, we made this cake together and it taste absolutely delicious, even more with the presence of my friends.

I live in a tropical country, so, I longed to experience White Christmas. I remember reading "The little match girl" when I was still a child, and since then, I've been wanting to see and feel snow. But of course I don't want to die in the snow like the girl in the story did.

Another tale that makes me want to experience snow more is Narnia. I love the movies, and I absolutely love the scene where Jadis, the snow queen riding her sleigh ride. The white scenery and powdery snow make me really envious with people who live in a four seasons country.

Pin up Girls

Been trying to draw sexy pin up girls with tiny waist and big boobs. This is one of them and it's still not perfect, but I'm trying to get improvement here. I've been wanting to draw pin up girls style for a while and lately, I've been taken a liking to this kind of style. I guess there will be more of this kind of illustration and of course I wish to get better at it.

Cute Little Mermaid

It's so HOT! Not the good kind of hot, I can't stand this weather!
It's supposed to be rain season by now, but there's still no rain only the sun shining too brightly.

Well, I don't know how I'm supposed to feel. I hate summer! I live in a tropical country since the day I was born, yet I still can't stand the heat.

Also, I live in a big city, a big and dirty city which makes it worse, not only it's hot, the pollution mix with the heat make me feel faint everytime I go out.

I always love rain, sure it's not snow which I really long to see and feel, at least when it's rain season the temperature goes down and the air can get a little bit cooler. On the other hand, I have a job which requires me to go to the office every morning. Knowing my city, the rain will cause a major trouble with the traffic (as if it's not bad enough) and also flood.

Well, for a while I want to forget all of that problems. So I went for a swim at a nearby sports club. I feel a lot better after cooling my head in the cool water. After that, I got an idea to draw a cute mermaid.

Mamoru Chiba/ Tuxedo Kamen

I'm not a big fan of the Sailor Moon reboot. When I do like the fact that its' story stick to the manga version, I don't like the art style.

Yes the sailor scouts look pretty, but the artists make them too skinny. Also, it's kinda hard to bring out the goofy character of Usagi with that kind of style, Usagi looks pretty, but too mature, unlike the previous anime in which she's funny, goofy and a klutz.

Personally I like the 1994 anime better, but I gotta admit, Mamoru looks handsome in this reboot.
Yes, he looks so skinny, typical bishounen, and I'm not a fan of pretty boy, but I like the new Mamoru better.

It's been a while since the last time I drew in manga style, so you have to forgive me if this fanart is a little bit mess up.

Apple Pie and Serenity

 I love apple pie! Well, basically I love anything with apple, but apple pie is one my favourite dessert. Before my friend went to China to study, we went out together as a farewell party and we eat at Island Creamery. I ordered apple pie with cookies and cream Ice cream and Chocolate sauce as topping. It was heavenly for me.

This dress is inspired by Princess Seremity dress. THe original is already so pretty, I just change some details.

Wedding Peach, redesign

I love Wedding Peach, that anime is a part of my childhood. I know it's kinda silly, I mean, come on, who the hell wear a wedding dress for battle?
But I just don't care, as cheesy as it is, even though many people say (especially Sailor Moon's Fans) that it's a rip off of Sailor moon, I still love it.

When I look back at Momoko's wedding dress, I don't know, I used to love them as a kid, but now it seems too puffy. The dress is just sooo biiggg. I guess The  Princess Diana's  wedding dress style just not for me anymore.

So, I redesigned it. I still use some elements of the original dress, but I need to make the dress less puffy.

There's already a Sailor moon remake, it makes me hoping that there will be a remake of wedding peach too.

Colorful vintage!

I've been always like to look at vintage wedding dresses. This illustration inspired by one of the dresses I found when I was surfing the internet.

The dress was really beautiful and elegant, but lack of color. Well, it's a wedding dress afterall, white is still the best color.

But I decided to add more color to my illustrations. I inspired by Gwen Stefani's ombre wedding dress. I remember saw it in the magazine as one of the worst wedding dresses. Well, I don't agree with whoever it is who put such a unique dress on that list.

This just a quick update, recently I've been busy with my job, so I haven't got the time to post anything on this blog.

This is just a doodle I made, inspired by the Great Gatsby.

I love vintage, and totally love the flapper girl style. They look so fun and glamourous.

Moon Waltz

I've always been fond of the moon. It's really pretty, whatever shape, full moon or crescent moon, it's always look beautiful.

There are many songs and stories about or inspired by the moon . The story of the bamboo cutter from japan or Kaguya hime, the story about the moon bunnies, Bella Luna, the song by Jason Mraz which is one of my favourite song of all time, Tsukiyo no monogatari  by Domoto Koichi, Fly me to the moon by Frank Sinatra and many more.

Recently, I read "Tsuki No Warutsu", a manga by Mitsuki Kako, it's a love story between a wealthy girl and her butler. It has a bitter sweet ending where finally they're both can be together forever.
Also I found a song with the same title "Tsuki no warutsu" (there is no connection between the manga and the song) which I think is really beautiful. The song is like telling me a fairy tale about a castle in the moon and there is a prince in that castle who invite me to dance a waltz.

With that kind of romantic stories, I can't help myself but be inspired to draw something romantic too. I really love the title "Waltz of the moon", it has a nice ring to it.

In the dark of the night, the moon light shines upon the destined lover as they dance a waltz of the moon.

I was wondering, why do I like the moon so much? Maybe it's because I'm an owl, I have more energy at night than I do at day. Then, I found out that apparently the meaning of my last name is "moon". I don't know if it has anything to do with my fondness of the moon, but I'm really happy to know that.

Pretty Ladies part 2

 I love drawing flowers. I drew this illustration with nothing in my mind, just wandering my hand on the paper and here's what I got. I had fun with color picking for the hair. I chose to do colorful hair like a rainbow. I won't do that kind of hairstyle myself in real life, so I think at least I can use it in my illustrations.

Another Fan Art. The girl in this Illustration is Hanasaki Momoko from Wedding peach. Wedding Peach often said to be a rip off of Sailor moon. But I love both anime. They're both part of my childhood and reasons why I started drawing. Also, for the lead guy, I like Yosuke, the love interest of Momoko better than Mamoru. I think he's more handsome and cute. Also, in the story, he's half human and half devil, he's more powerful than Mamoru.

Pretty ladies

Lately, I've taken a liking to fashion Illustration. I'm not the most fashionable person, but I really love the pretty ladies illustration.

So, here are my illustrations that's been inspired by fashion illustration style. Of course, with a splash of geekiness. I'm a nerd after all.

This is an illustration inspired by my favourite musician, Kerli Koiv the bubble goth princess from Estonia. I love her songs, but currently my favourite is "Sugar", and that's the song that isnpired me to drew this. I really like the way she dress, crazy, colourful and yet still sweet and feminine with ribbon and laces.

I LOVE VINTAGE! The lady in my illustration is wearing a vintage dress designed by Fernando Sarmi for Elizabeth Arden in the 1950. Here's the link to the actual photo of the dress :

Okay, I love Manga and Anime. And this illustration inspired by one of the most well known magical girl anime in the world. It's Michiru Kaioh from Sailor moon a.k.a Sailor Neptune. Not particularly her, but Inspired by her. I remember Sailor Neptune as the prettiest Sailor Scout. Oh, But I do like Sailor Saturn too. Maybe next I would do some fan art with Sailor Saturn

The Golden Snail

The Golden Snail is a popular folklore from Indonesia. It's about a princess who was cursed into a golden snail by a wicked witch.

I remember when I was a child, my Grandmother (RIP) told me this folklore as my bedtime story. I often asked my late Grandmother to tell me stories, from folklore to foreign fairy tales before I go to sleep. She knew a lot of folklore, and I always enjoyed her stories. I guess that's what make me really fond of fairy tales.

Every time I read folklore, it always brings me back to the memory of when I was still little, lying in bed with my grandmother beside me telling me bed time stories. Oh.. how I miss her...

brave and fantasy

I made these two illustrations for a competition.. Unfortunately, I didn't win it. But still, I like these two so I decided to post it in this blog.

The first one is an illustration of a brave boy who doesn't scared of things that kids usually hate, like get an injection, drink bitter medicine or speak in public. I drew him as a superhero as superhero always associate with bravery. Also, superheros are cool! (Well I do tend to like villain better. Yep, villains are cooler (Look at Loki, Regina Mills, Draco Malfoy, Uco The Raid 2, Mad dog and also that evil prince from Frozen, I forgot his name, but I do like him better than the blonde reindeer guy)).


The second one is about a girl who get absorbed into a fairy tale book and she's going to have an adventure with the fairy tale characters. Magical huh?

Hammer Girl

Recently I watched The Raid 2, no word can express my feeling about the film but I will try my best, it was... AWESOOOOMEEEE!!!!! EPIIIICCC!!!

That's it, because I don't need to say anything, you simply just have to watch it to experience the AWESOMENESS.

I did this on a whim, just scribbeling when all of sudden, Hammer Girl pop to my brain and here's the result.

Goddess Of Spring

I love stories! From fairy tale, folklore to mythology.

As for mythology, I enjoy reading the Greek Mythology and I have to admit, the Gods are pretty f-word up.
Zeus and Hera, the king and queen of Olympus are actually brother and sister, also, Zeus tricked Hera and raped her to make her to be his.

And that's not enough, he has to have affairs with his other siblings. Incest? check, Sexual violation? Check, Adultery? Check. I guess because they are Gods, so they don't have to obey the human rule.

But, beside all that, there is one story from Greek Mythology that is my favourite. It's the story about Persephone and Hades. Well... sure Hades abducted Persephone, and yes, Hades is actually her uncle. But, Let's put that aside and focus to the story.Hades, The Ruler of the Death Realm, he's always been so lonely in the underworld with no light or warm. But, he fell in love with Persephone, Daughter of Demeter.

He loves her so much,, he can't bear not to have her. Zeus, Persephone's father actually give Hades his consent. But he knows that Demeter, who loves Persephone so much won't allow him to take her beloved daughter to the Underworld to be his queen. And thus, he kidnapped Persephone when she's picking the flowers in the field. After living with Hades for a while, Persephone grow to love him.

Well, call me mad, but I think this story is romantic as hell. Hades loves Persephone so much, enough to make him willing to do anything to make Persephone his. Although it's kind of psychotic, but I think that kind of love is really beautiful.

I really had fun drawing him, I love looking at his photos, he's not your average hot guy, no, with a glance I won't considered him or Benedict Cumberbatch as a hot guy. But They have this kind of charm and also amazing talents that make me fall in love with them.
