New haircut and vintage dress

A new picture of me! Yes, I had my haircut. All people say that it's a shame, because my hair was really long, but I'm happy that they say this hairstyle looks good on me.

Anyway, about a month a go I went to a flea market with a friend. I always love the classic vintage look. You know, the dress which look like the one that the girl in a story book wear with ribbon and laces.

My friend found me this cute vintage dress  which in her opinion, looks like a japanese school girl uniform. I love the dress sooo much, so I bought it.
Once I got home, my mom and sister saw my dress and it made me sad that they don't like it. They say it looks really old and only suitable for grannies.

Well, so clearly, we don't have the same taste in fashion, because in my opinion it looks soo cute. But what the hell, I bought it because I like it and I wear it for me, not for other people. So I decided to not listen to them. I love it so much and I think it's cute.

This Saturday, I got an invitation to a wedding. I plan to wear it and I already ordered a red bowler hat to match with the dress. Tomorrow, I'll go to the tailor to have my dress altered (It's too long for me). I can't wait to wear it!

Bubbles!

I really love bubbles! I bought two bubble solution with the container which look like ice cream too. And they also smell like ice cream! isn't that amazing? And oh... how beautiful to see the bubbles flew away to the blue sky.

Something on a whim

I tried to drew with different style. I hope it's not too vulgar. I wanted to draw sleeping beauty but I'm too lazy to draw the dress.

Alohaaaaa!!!

It's already October. Currently, I'm working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. I really enjoy my everyday life. I can do what I want to do and I really love doing illustrations for children.

I got ordered to drew a Hawaiian girl with an Indonesian girl in traditional clothes. Because this is work, of course I can't publish it here.

But, after heard the word of Hawaii, I can't help thinking about a pretty and flirty hula girl. So, I drew one just to have fun

I did it with SAI Paint tool.

Little Red Riding Hood

Even if you're not live or walk in the woods, you still have to be careful for the "wolf".

Please be cautious every where you go. The "wolf" isn't always in the form of a wolf.

The couples of Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favourite book.
I love Jane-Bingley cute and loving relationship, but of course, my favourite character is Mr. Darcy.

He is cool, handsome and has a little bit dose of arrogance, but, behind his cool exterior, he's just a nice guy who cares about the person he loved.

Apparently, I have a friend who's crazy about Pride and Prejudice. So, I dedicate this fan art to her.

Sherlock Fan Art

I'm in love with Benedict Cumberbatch...

Every time I watch a movie, I always sided with the bad guy. I don't know, but for me, villains always look sexier than the hero.

Ever since I watched Star Trek I have a huge crush on Benedict. My friend suggest me to watch Sherlock and it made me love him more.
I love "A Scandal in Belgravia" episode, I just can't resist Sherlock with nothing but a sheet covering his body. It's so funny and cute how he pout when Mycroft insist him to put on his clothes. I like that scene so much I decided to make a fan art

Job hunting begin!

It's been a long time since the last time I posted.
I've been really busy with my final project and thank goodness, I've done with it.

I'm already graduate and now it's time for me to find a job. But before that, I want to post something. After a long hiatus, just something to keep this blog alive

 

Feeling depressed

I'm on my way to the graduation path...
But it's really thorny and hard. I don't feel like drawing lately, my mid is full with the thought of my final project. And yet, I haven't know yet how to get through this. I haven't found a good style for the illustration  book that I'm gonna make for my final project.

So, here I post an old work which I haven't published before

I'm a big fan of Big Bang. and my favourite member is TOP. He's just so... so... masculine, cool, and I love his unique voice.

He once had a hairstyle that make him similar to a blue ice cream. So here it is. A chibi version of TOP.
FYI, I went to the concert and even though my seat is the cheapest one and it's so far, that was a great concert!

Cantarella

I'm not a big fan of Vocaloid, but I really like the songs.
Currently I love listening to Cantarella. Yes, I'm weird, but the psychotic love story of this song really intoxicate me.

The guy who's willing to do anything to have his beloved is really crazy. He went as far as killing. But... I don't know... It's just really romantic for me. I can't help but draw a fanart.

The guy is called Kaito I guess? And the green hair girl called Miku.

After doing some research, apparently Cantarella is the name of a poison from Borgia family an Italian Noble family. They're famous from using poison to eliminate their enemies.
In the Borgia family there's a couple of sibling, Cesare Borgia and Lucrezia Borgia. There's suspicion about them having incestuous relationship. I guess in the music video, Miku act as Lucrezia and Kaito is Cesare.

 There are plenty of other fanarts which are of course, much better than mine. But I draw this because I want to, so it's okay I guess?

Cantarella-Vocaloid

I'm back!

I just got back from my vacation. I went to Bali with my two best friends. It was a really fun trip and Bali is such a beautiful island.
We went to Pure (Hindu's sacred place for pray), there are so many of them with the traditional and unique architecture. And of course, the beaches! They are really beautiful, we burnt ourselves because we played too much.

When I got back, I'm back to the reality. I'm a college student who's got her final project in front of her. I can't help but feel stressful. So, I draw. Just for fun, but if I think about it, it's not just about fun. It's a practice for me to face my final project. Afterall, I chose illustration as my theme. I'm going to do illustrations for a book called True Love by Robert Fulghum. The stories inside the book are really heartwarming and sweet. So I hope I can do my best to make illustrations as heartwarming as the stories.

 Searching a style for my final project. I want to draw something heartwarming and cute. Is this a good style for my final project? I'm still searching.

 Realist practice. This is a portrait of my father. My mother said it doesn't resemble him much. I made the eyes too small

Portrait of my mother. Even I don't think this resemble her, I made her face too round. I think I won't show her this picture. I think this picture resemble my late grandmother more instead of my mother. Well, my grandmother is the mother of my mother so they should resemble each other right? So I don't think this is a total failure

Love Line

I shouldn't be up this late. It's 03.38 now in my country. But I can't help it. When I want to draw, then I draw. So again with my digital painting practice

I think this time I've got better. At least for the hair part. It's not good enough yet, but I think it's getting better.

Happy valentine... NOT!!!

Let's make it quick, it's valentine and I don't feel like drawing something sweet and pinky. So who are the most romantic yet dark couple? There are morticia and gomez, Victor and Emily and of course Jack and Sally.

In the end I choose Jack and Sally as my favourite couple.

Well, there's no valentine for me. I now have to deal with my final assignment and God! I'm dying here... there's so much to do yet I don't know how to.

My brain is in chaotic state and there's still one more proposal for me to write.

Oh, well... now I will have a date with my final project...

Gong Xi Fat Choi!

It's almost time for Xin Tjia or in english, Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year.

My house gonna be crowded with my family, I don't particularly like party, especially now my final assignment is so near, but I gotta get those red envelope so I could pay for my final assignment (It's gonna be expensive).
 And it will be really fun with my cousins here.

Flood and Blackout!

A few days ago, the city I live in got a terrible disaster.
Water everywhere and not just that, the flood was not getting decreased either. People got trapped in their own house. Even die because of drowning. It's really horrible.

I am fortunate enough to not get caught up by the flood. My neighbourhood is safe and dry, but because of the flood, our electricity was out for 4 days.

So, in those 4 days, I made these drawings.

 Recently, I got really caught up with vintage wedding dress. I really love the bohemian style dress and the juliette wedding veil.

Still about vintage wedding dress but with different style. I don't really like long wedding dress. Hey, I don't want to get tripped while walking at the aisle.
I really fond of laces and the details of vintage wedding dress.

Arabian dancers are really pretty! I got inspired by Morgiana from Ali Baba tale for this illustration. Morgiana is a brave woman who saved Ali Baba from the thief whom tried to kill him.

A fairy got trapped! I got inspired by the scene in Peter Pan where Tinkerbell, the fairy got caught by the pirates. It's been a while since I use water color. And I'm quite happy with this illustration.


Well, I did enjoy drawing these illustration while the electricity's out. But I hope it won't happen again and I pray for all  the victim that suffered because of this disaster.
I heard that there will be another flood in 29 January. Let's pray that it won't happen.

Snow White

I LOVE fairy tale. From Grimm to Andersen to 1001 nights, I just LOVE THEM!

But I gotta admit, the princess in those fairy tales are quite stupid. For example, Snow White. In the original version, the queen attempted to kill her THREE times. First suffocate her with ribbon, second with poisoned comb and last with poisoned apple.

The queen did those things with the same disguise as a poor old lady.
Even donkey won't fall into the same hole twice, but she fell for it THREE times! Just how stupid is she?

Well, I guess that's fairy tale for you, and I still love snow white. So, here we go, my Snow White Illustration

Psalm 23 :1

My friend told me about a wallpaper competition that's held by her work place (she's an intern there).
The first place got an ipod mini. I already own an ipod so, I was thinking if I can get the first place, I'm gonna sell it and use the money for my final assignment (it's gonna cost a lot).

Every contestant only allowed to sent 1 artwork and the theme is Bible verses. I made 2 and then ask my friends to choose which one is better. Now I reach a conclusion, so I post one of my artwork here. The other one has to wait until the contest is over

I use the verse from Psalm 23 : 1

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

Foodism

So, yesterday was my day out with my friend/neighbour. We both loooove food! So, we did a bit of culinary conquest (well, not a bit actually, it was a terrible yet delicious sin we did on our diet...).

We were in the mood for sushi, so we went to my favourite japanese restaurant, Hachi Hachi. Apparently my friend also like that restaurant but never tried anything besides their sushi, which is really delicious by the way. So, I suggest her to try my favourite dish from that restaurant which is called bistro rice.

Bistro rice contained one portion of rice with three tempura shrimps, bulgogi, stir fried vegetables, three pieces of onion ring and two yakitori (meat on a skewer).  It's really delicious! And I guessed right, she absolutely love the dish!

In the evening, we stopped by at a little cafe called areli which I visited once long ago. I suggest her to go to that cafe because I love their apple pie and there's another reason that is not so pure...

The cafe owner is a really handsome guy!

My friend got really spirited after I told her that. And fortunately, the owner was there. We almost let our squeal out. But besides the handsome owner, the food is really good and the atmosphere is really nice. Such a cute little cafe. I really love it there.

Apparently my friend  fell in love with the apple pie too. She keeps on rambling about how she wants to eat it again.

Well, it was a good day. Now I must work hard to lose the fat I gained (sigh)

Love phone

There are some stuff that can't be spoken directly.
Some people are just shy to say I Love You to their beloved directly but for sure text message is not my favourite way to say I love you.

In these days when a 8 year old kid already got a cellphone and texting or even use the internet to communicate, I guess string phone is out of date. But still, it's my childhood toy and I think it's cute and can be a romantic way to express your feeling.

Can you imagine a shy boy with red face  trying to say I love You to the girl he loves?
 Isn't it cute and pure?

Fine... I made a mistake, the guy should place the telephone under his mouth, not his ear. I promise I will be more careful in the next illustrations

Okay, I'm gonna make a string phone. Then, I only need to find the right guy to play it with me. Hopefully, I'll find him this year.

2013 first post.

Happy New year all!!!

How do you spend new year?
I spend new year with the people from my neighbourhood, we have a little gathering and at midnight, we watch fireworks together.

It was fun and the fireworks are really beautiful.

Well, 2012 is over. Let's hope that 2013 will be a good year for all of us.
